Joint Event:
We’re are excited to announce that we will be doing a joint event with the Chinese American Society (CAS)! We’re going to have a non-traditional thanksgiving potluck style meeting with a ton of food! The event will be free for members but you are welcome to bring some food to share with everyone else if you like! For non-members, you have the option of paying only 5 dollars or bringing in a dish of at least 5 servings. We’ll also be playing some food-related games that put your palate to the test! It’s going to be a lot of fun so definitely come out and enjoy some delicious food! The meeting is next
Thursday the 19th at in Payne 3rd floor cross over.

Our second general meeting is this Wednesday! We’ll be having be having Miso soup that’s hot, delicious, and just 2 bucks unless you’re a member, of course, because then this meeting and all others are free! 15 dollars for a semester
and just 20 for the whole year! We’ll be playing a game you may have heard of called “Mafia” that we’re renaming “Yakuza”, as well as another secret game that you’ll just have to come out to see what it is! The meeting will be on Wednesday at 7pm in Payne 2nd Floor Crossover and if you need to be let in, one of our friendly officers will be at the entrance under the crossover.

Also, here’s a reminder about our open Treasurer position: Our information session will be September 21st, at 8:30 pm in room 219. If you can’t make it out to the info session just email our Vice Pres Cathi and let her know you are
interested. Her email is csyao@vt.edu. If you don’t come to the info session or contact Cathi, you cannot run so make sure you get on that if you’re interested. Actual elections will be September 24th, at 7pm in Squires room 236.

The Foreign Language and Literature department is hosting the Japanese Film Festival, which shows Japanese movies at the Lyric! The movie for this week will be “Densha Otoko” and will be playing this Sunday at 3:00 pm. We’ll be there before the movie having a bake sale for you all to enjoy! The movie is free but one dollar donations are accepted!

AASU’s Freshstart program is this Friday! It will be held in the Multi-Cultural Center in Squires on the first floor at 5:00pm! What is Freshstart? It’s a great way for people who are new to AASU to get to know all the different AASU organizations on a more personal level. You and your friends should come check us all out and see what we’ve got to offer!

Our first general meeting will be this Thursday at 7:45 pm in Squires Room 219! Just as a reminder we’ve got introductions, Human Tetris,and home made California Rolls. If you haven’t planned on it yet you’re gonna want to come out and bring your friends!
